Deb has served in a variety of roles at the local, state, and federal levels, including as U.S. assistant secretary of elementary and secondary education from 2012-2015, Ohio’s 35th state superintendent of public instruction, and superintendent of the Cleveland Heights–University Heights City School District. After her time at the Dept. of Education, she served as executive director and CEO of ASCD and CEO of the Alliance for Excellent Education (All4Ed).

Donald is former superintendent of the nation’s 10th largest school district, prior to which he served as the district’s COO. He has served in many other leadership roles, including as senior area superintendent of the South Learning Community for Fulton County School District (GA), executive director of New Leaders for New Schools in Maryland, and principal of a CTE high school in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (NC).

Before launching America Succeeds, he served as the founding president of Colorado Succeeds, was a senior legislative assistant to Congressman Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, and founded the nonprofit Open Fairways. Tim is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and serves on the X Prize Brain Trust for Learning & Society.
