What is Edmentum’s Study Island Fall Performance through Practice Contest?
The Study Island Fall Performance through Practice contest is our fall usage contest, which runs from October 23 – November 18, 2017.

There will be one school winner and 2 student winners.

How are the winners determined?
Winners will be randomly selected from a compiled list of total entrants from the registration window, October 6th – November 18th, 2017, who meet the minimum contest criteria. Only unique Blue Ribbons earned during the contest period will be counted, and Blue Ribbons earned on Custom Material will be excluded. There may be only one entry.

School Winners
The School winner will be randomly selected from entrants who meet the minimum contest criteria. The minimum contest criteria are: At least 75% of the participating students must earn at least 2 Blue Ribbons per week for each of the weeks of the contest period. The weeks are: Sunday 10.22.17 – Saturday 10.28.2017, Sunday 10.29.17 – Saturday 11.04.2017, Sunday 11.05.17 – Saturday 11.11.2017, Sunday 11.12.17 – Saturday 11.18.2017. At least 15 students must be participating during the contest period for the school to be eligible for prizes.

Student Winners
Two student winners will be randomly selected from all participating students who meet the minimum contest criteria. The minimum contest criteria are: Students must earn at least 2 blue ribbons per week for each week of the contest period in order to be eligible for the individual student prizes. The weeks are: Sunday 10.22.17 – Saturday 10.28.2017, Sunday 10.29.17 – Saturday 11.04.2017, Sunday 11.05.17 – Saturday 11.11.2017, Sunday 11.12.17 – Saturday 11.18.2017. The student’s campus does not have to meet the 15 student participation minimum nor the 75% of students earning 2 Blue Ribbons per week requirement in order for the student to be eligible for student-level prizes.

What are the prizes?
One school winner will receive a choice of either 4 kindle fire HD 8 tablets or 1 iPad Mini tablet. The winning school will decide which prize they would like to receive.

Two student winners will each receive 1 Kindle Fire HD 8 tablet.

Who can participate?
Schools who are current Study Island customers as of November 18, 2017 are eligible. A minimum of 15 students per school must participate in order to be eligible for school prizes. Only one entry per school is needed.

Can other Edmentum customers participate if they don't have Study Island?
No. The contest is only open to current Study Island customers as of November 18, 2017.

How do I enter?
Entries may be made by a teacher, principal, or other school administrator by filling out our contest form http://info.edmentum.com/2017-SI-Fall-UsageContest-Form.html. Entries made by parents or students will not be accepted. The deadline to enter is November 18th, 2017 by 11:59 PM CT. Entries are accepted for schools only. We cannot accept a single entry for an entire district. How will Edmentum determine which students are participating in the contest?
Any student from a registered school who answers questions in Study Island within the contest period will count as a participating student. Students who do not log into Study Island during the contest period will not be counted.

What does it cost to compete in the Fall 2017 Performance Through Practice Contest?
It is free to register and compete in the contest. Any additional advertisement, prizes, or incentives provided by a school or district are at the sole discretion and expense of that school or district.

Do Blue Ribbons earned outside of the contest window count towards my total?
No. Only Blue Ribbons earned during the contest window (October 22, 2017 - November 18, 2017) will be counted towards contest totals.

Do students have to earn 2 Blue Ribbons per week for each week, or can they earn an average of 2 Blue Ribbons per week?
Students must earn at least 2 Blue Ribbons per week each week in order to meet the minimum contest requirements. The weeks are: The weeks are: Sunday 10.22.17 – Saturday 10.28.2017, Sunday 10.29.17 – Saturday 11.04.2017, Sunday 11.05.17 – Saturday 11.11.2017, Sunday 11.12.17 – Saturday 11.18.2017.

Simply averaging 2 Blue Ribbons per week is not sufficient to qualify.

What content will count towards contest question totals?
All Study Island subjects are allowed. Custom content will be excluded.

Students are encouraged to complete assignments that meet their differentiated academic needs and the decision to assign different levels of content is at the discretion of the teacher. Blue Ribbons earned in content below grade level for remediation needs, on grade level, and above grade level for acceleration purposes will count towards contest totals.

When will the winners be notified?
We will contact all contest winners on or before December 1, 2017 by phone and/or email. For student winners, we will contact the school teacher or principal who registered for the contest.

I have registered my school to compete, now what?
Prepare to compete by making sure that your students are enrolled in the program and are ready to use Study Island.

When the contest officially begins, we will automatically monitor student and school usage to calculate Blue Ribbons earned during the contest period. You do not need to submit any Study Island usage data from your school. All participating students from your school will be included in contest totals.
